Lighthouses of the Earth — at Wilhelmina’s

The summer show at Wilhelmina’s — the seaside contemporary gallery at Mandraki — has been extended until 15 October 2026. Inspired by Helen Hunt-Jackson’s poem God’s Lighthouses and Ken Follett’s The Pillars of the Earth, Lighthouses of the Earth imagines the gallery as both a lighthouse and a cathedral for art, bringing together seven international artists:

• Martand Khosla — Rewritten Stories
• Emilio Perez — Beyond the Shores
• Boris Torres — La Maja, Le désir, Secret Lovers and more
• Panos Tsagaris — Always in motion, always unchanging like the drops under your eyes

Opening hours: 11:00–18:00, or by appointment.

Getting there

The gallery sits on Mandraki bay, a headland just east of the port. Three ways to reach it:

• Shuttle boat — the Mandraki Beach Resort shuttle docks right outside the gallery, leaving Hydra port every half hour from 7:00–11:30 pm, €10 return. It departs from the port outside the café Roloi.
• Water taxi — from the port (in front of Isalos café): about €35 to the gallery, ~€65 return after dark.
• On foot — a beautiful 25–35 minute walk along the coast (bring water — you’ll work up a sweat!).
