Wilhelmina's
Wilhelmina's is an emerging contemporary gallery located from May to September on the island of Hydra, in a historic shipyard at Mandraki, with a focus on young and mid-career artists. Located between the rocks and the sea, the gallery provides an environment suspended in time, where the artists' works can be viewed with a leisure that offers a counterpoint to the fast-paced fairs and city exhibitions. In winter, Wilhelmina's focus shifts to pop-ups and collaborations with galleries and fairs. The artists exhibited share themes of dreams, mythology and nature, with a focus on figurative art.
On now: «Lighthouses of the Earth»
The 2026 summer show brings together eight international artists — from Greece, Argentina, Mexico, India, Ecuador and the USA. Inspired by Helen Hunt-Jackson's poem God's Lighthouses and Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth, it imagines the gallery, by the sea, as both a lighthouse whose art shines for life's navigators and a cathedral whose works are the pillars of a sanctuary. Extended until 15 October.
