Free neutering of Hydra’s stray cats, 22 to 27 October

The Municipality of Hydra continues its programme of neutering, vaccination, microchipping and registration of stray animals. From 22 to 27 October 2026 the veterinary team of Ms Kotzampasaki (ANIMED) will be on the island to neuter Hydra’s stray cats free of charge and to treat them where needed: fewer strays, healthier animals, a more beautiful island.

When: 22 to 27 October 2026

Where: the municipal buildings at the Hydra football ground.

Book an appointment early on 6997050629, so the team knows how many animals to expect.

How you can help:

• volunteer at the neutering site;
• take animals to and from the site;
• tell people who look after stray cats, so they can catch them in time.

Your own pet: while the team is on the island, owned pets can be examined by appointment. This is not free; you will be told the cost when you book.
